40 Acres of Trees!!!
In 1998 we purchased 40 acres of land that sits on both sides of beautiful spring fed
Sand Creek. Sand Creek has its headwaters at the California Spring, a vital source of
water to early western bound pioneers on the Santa Fe and California trails. As the
name implies, much of the stream flows thru sandstone and much of our 40 acre tree
farm has deep rich and unusually sandy soil. On the sandier ground we grow
evergreens like Emerald arborvitae and Norway and Colorado spruce. On the more silt
loam soils we grow oaks, maples, flowering crabapple, river birch and many other native
and select non native trees.

We dig our trees spring and late fall during the dormant season. Every fall we sell trees
at our weekend open houses in October. Spring dug trees are heeled in at the nursery
and are available for sale during the growing season, except in august, when we
generally do not recommend planting B&B trees. Because we grow our own trees we
offer tremendous savings over other nurseries that sell large  trees like these. We have
two tree spades and transplant trees up to 4.5" in trunk caliper.
